Silence is violence.
Looking at a woman the wrong way is assault.
But at vcu, the student leaders say destroying property is not violent.
It’s like “mostly peaceful”.
If 51% of protesters are non violent, even if the rest are terribly violent, is the protest “mostly peaceful”?
What if the non violent ones provide cover for the acts and identities of the ones throwing bombs, mostly peaceful?
If you’re marching, chanting inane slogans and threatening cops for an hour, that is peaceful. If you then spend five seconds throwing a brick at a cop, would you say that 99.99% of your actions were peaceful?
And if the cop ducked but your brick hit and broke a window, since destroying property is not violence, was you action 100% peaceful?
So CNN and the mob were not lying exactly, it’s all in the definition.
