that is often used by media, and as the 'Getty' caption for it explains:

So, it's not part of some conspiracy against MU, but it's unfortunate (and possibly deliberate in some cases) that the media still use this outdated stock photo in many of their articles. It wouldn't surprise me at all if some of the "old guard" SEC media prefer this image because it omits MU.
