The base wanted Barr attacked with no avenue for response.
The base wanted Trump attacked with no avenue for response.
The base wanted to consume their own propaganda and feel like powerful people in charge were making that propaganda true and real.
The mainstream media and the politicians gave the base exactly what it wanted.
This wasn't a 'hearing' it was a 'deafening', an echo chamber, a circle jerk and a rally.
And it all came off, for the most part, exactly as they wanted it to come off.
One wonders why Barr, who knew exactly what they were doing, would even agree to such shenanigans.
He behaved exactly as controlled-opposition would behave.
