Federal Agents/Chicago Police Department

I have an uncle-in-law who works for CPD and has been pulled down for some of the "protests" and was interesting hearing him talk about the current situation.

Lightfoot ordered them to "not engage" any violent protestors so they were basically there to be punching bags and let them do whatever they want. Anyone they did happen to round up, which were mainly people directly assaulting officers, were thrown into jail and almost immediately released. They've been arresting a few of the same people multiple times. It's public knowledge in the department Kim Foxx has no intent on prosecuting any rioters/protestors. Also, ironically, George Soros donated $2M to Kim Foxx's recent re-election campaign.

So now their hope with the federal agents is that they can arrest some of the organizers that are involved with the destruction of property etc. (if they come back, it's died down significantly at this point). That way they can just bypass the state prosecution and charge them on the federal level and maybe something will get accomplished in that sense.

Really no commentary on my end - just passing the information along.
