our conference collapsed in 2012 and we are no longer a member of it, given that the iteration that ceased to exist in 1996 was a conference that consisted of long time rivalries and much history. And through an unfortunate set of circumstances the collapse in 2012 led MU to become a member of the best conference in the nation instead.
But only October when we are playing non-con games and the conference schedule hasn't started yet, so we can misattribute any ailes the program currently faces to our upcoming conference matchups. Doing so in other months is just excessive.
