Certainly not all peaceful protesters have been attacked, but also not all (not nearly all) protesters have been throwing rocks or becoming disruptive.

But there has been bad acting by both the protesters, and enforcement, and actions such as sending federal agents in exacerbate the bad acting by the protesters.

The Lafayette Square incident, of clearing out otherwise peaceful protesters for a photo op, is a good example of bad, and unnecessary, acting by the enforcement side.
