The only reason for the letter is because of a Democrat Governor and Democrat Mayor who are complicit with the destruction of Seattle. -- Seattle will survive.

They literally WANT it to happen because they see it as a way to defeat Trump. -- I doubt they literally want the city destroyed because at least one of them would literally be without a job then. Now, are they taking a bad situation and trying to spin it in such a way as to make Trump look bad? Of course they are.

You scan the entire situation, evaluate the various importances of each variable (as the wise 'moderate' that you are) and come back with the hot take:

The Chief of Police is a pussy. -- Still my opinion that that letter makes him come off as a pussy. Not saying he is one. But the letter makes him sound like one.

Not critical of the protesters. -- First, the OP was about a letter, not a general dissertation on the current socio-economic-political environment. I'm not critical of protesters for protesting. I am critical of criminals and anyone that vandalizes, burns, destroys property, assaults others or batters others is a criminal and they should be arrested and charged. Yes.
Words matter. Protesters are fine, whether it's due to perceived injustices or because they don't want to wear a mask. I have been critical, however, of protesters for not outing the criminals. They know who they are. They've filmed them. They should turn them in. But I say that not because they have a duty to but because it hurts their cause not to.

Not critical of the Governor or Mayor. -- Can you be more specific and I will respond. As it relates to the letter, I do question the wisdom of taking less than lethal options out of the police's hands. I do think that the great shows of force simply guarantee the outcomes one wants to see and therefore question their effectiveness as well.

Not critical of Democrat support for these protests. -- Again, I'm going to get technical on you again because words do matter. Do you have a problem with the protests? I'm not saying you have to agree with what they are protesting for, but it would seem to me that the right to simply protest is not something many are against.

Not critical of Democrats (insane Democrats) who believe this is a good way to get Trump. -- You'll have to more fully explain this hot take for my dumb ass to understand.

Not critical of looting or rioting. The hell I'm not. Every god damn looter and rioter should be arrested and charged. In fact, the protesters, for their own selfish reasons, should be turning them in.

Nope, all that is not nearly as important as noting the Chief of Police is a pussy. -- That was about all there was in the OP was the Chief's letter. I didn't know you wanted a dissertation on current world affairs.
