Nor do they offer the protection, nor additional pockets for first aid gear, gloves, flex cuffs.

Saw an officer the other day and every spot on his duty belt was taken by a piece of gear.

Most uniform pants are a wool/poly blend. They don't repel moisture worth a crap and will actually melt if exposed to a flame. Don't know if you've ever been around a burn victim, but scraping burnt artificial fibers out of flesh isn't pleasant.

You've seen the "peaceful protestors" launching commercial grade fireworks at police, right?
