Why are the "peaceful protestors" often wearing all black and concealing their faces?

Most choices are either black or OD green for tactical gear. Fabrics are made to be flame resistant so they don't melt into your skin if you get hit with a firebomb. I'd say they are wearing OD green, and not woodland camo. If they had military uniforms, they would probably be desert camo and not woodland pattern.
