Sometimes i wonder if the NYT put any effort into getting all sides of an issue.

They certainly thought it was important for us to know that one guy was an engineer for the US navy and an annapolis grad. Why don't they give the occupation and academic resume of all the vermin protesting?

And this guy, "...wasn't even paying attention to the protests at all until the feds came in". Wow, that is remarkably like the lies told by the marxist mayor of portland.

The article says he took a bus to the courthouse. It didn't say what he did there. All lawful stuff? He "...was about to leave at 10:45 when federal officers emerged and began advancing on the protesters. He added he felt the need to ask the officers, Why were they violating the constitution?

"Instead of getting an answer he found himself being beaten with a baton by a federal officer ...as another doused him with pepper spray..."

He was taken to a hospital with a broken hand.

He did nothing wrong. All he did was ask a question. Those mean old feds did this to him for no reason at all.

He was appalled and disappointed at the feds' behavior.

The times interviewed a "self descried anti fascist" and quoted him uncritically and assumed everything he said was true and accurate.

Another mostly peaceful protester initially operated his snack stand in the CHOP zone in seattle. "I noticed there was a problem with nutrition. People are sleep deprived."

This is a guy who is a street vendor and the nyt uses him as a nutritionists and prints his diagnosis of the mostly peaceful rioters being sleep deprived.

He noticed that. How?

The times, trying to be fair did quote two people who had concerns that the protests have gone too far. One was sympathetic to their cause and the other part of the black community.

And another guy who runs a marketing company during the day said that the protests drew a diverse crowd reflecting a range of racial backgrounds age and socioeconomic status and that there was a sense of unity.

Reporting or advocating?
