my mom is cared for (Alzheimers) called to notify me that they had a resident test positive for Covid. Resident went to hospital for something unrelated to Covid, but was tested upon arrival and found to be positive. He was/is asymptomatic to Covid.

Of course, the nursing home immediately tested all residents and workers, but it was to take a couple of weeks for the results to all come back.

Got the call yesterday that my mother, along with most of the memory care area, is positive.

This means she and the others have been positive for at least 2 weeks, likely longer. Nobody is symptomatic other than they "think" maybe some patients are tired.

Mom will be 83 in August. The other patients are all elderly.

Everyone is pretty much fine.

I'm so shocked...we were all in a panic awaiting results. (We didn't care about the results, because clearly, she wasn't suffering or sick from the virus if she had it).
