I have to say that an ACT score is not fair for kids who struggle.
Just because they may have dyslexia or similar doesn't mean they aren't smart. Some are very smart but struggle with reading or comprehension in timed tests like that.
Some of these kids are actually very smart once they "get the information in their head." They make great choices and are very good logical thinkers.
In high school they may be given more time for a test or work twice as hard and long at homework but if they can get it done and get a decent GPA, they should be allowed in a state college. I get WashU or Yale may not want them but if taxpayers are funding the school and they have a decent GPA they should get a shot to do the same at that college
I'd rather hire someone who will put in the extra work and makes good decisions than the educated idiots college puts out these days
