I started at a similar place but came to the opposite conclusion. I've voted republican in every presidential election until the last one which I did not vote in because I saw each candidate as an equally poor choice. I had hoped Trump would have been less an ideologue (and maybe he ultimately is) but I will absolutely vote for Biden this November even I do not regard him as a particularly strong or even ideal candidate. But first of all, the democrats are not even close to being communists. If they were in a European party, both Bill Clinton and Obama would have fit squarely in the conservative camp. It's rather incredible that Americans have come to view most liberals or even those in the MOR as far left commies when they would be regarded as fairly conservative around the rest of the western world.
I believe Trump is the antithesis of the principles of this country and I'm not sure we will look much like a democracy after 4 more years of him. There are so many troubling issues, it's difficult to even know where to start. Ukraine alone should disqualify him (had I done anything similar to that on my job, I would have been fired). So many other troubling issues with the president; corruption, threats against the press, threats against political rivals, threats against American citizens, threats to remove due process when dealing with those that oppose his policies, retaliation against government employees that speak up, overuse of force, bad decision making, ignorance (willfull ignorance at that), and obstruction of justice - and many more. He hides behind the constitution on some issues while he abuses it at his whims.
