There is a left vs right divide in this country.

We cannot wish it away.

The left is used to the right giving up and suing for peace at any price. So they say things like, "can't we all just get along" and "we are all in this together', knowing the feckless Rs will say yes and "compromise" until the left gets 98% of what they want.

I'm saying we are not in this together.

The revolutionaries and the right have different objectives and different ways of achieving them.

I have posted many times that in the old days both parties and both wings of both parties wanted the same thing. It's like both parties wanted to go from st louis to miami but they wanted to take a different route.

But they both wanted to end up at the same place. Peace, prosperity, fairness and US preeminence in the world. Since we wanted to go to the same place, compromise could be reached.

Now, one side wants to go from st louis to miami and the other wants to go from st louis to mogadishu. How do you compromise on that one?

You don't. You don't compromise, you don't work together, you don't all get along. You fight to win, not to tie.
