OTOH it has made black lives many times more precarious.
Not only immediately but in the future.
Now admitedly few care about gangbangers and crimelords killing each other, but the people and children caught in the crossfire are a growing tragedy.
In the future many more blacks will die needlessly because many more will resist arrest
(precisely because of the idea if they surrender peacefully they will somehow get killed) and get themselves killed which will precipitate more riots and more Ferguson effect over and over and over again.
It all seems so stupid and counterproductive and obvious what and where the solutions lie.

This is among the many reasons I reject both wings of the liberal party- neither are reprentative of nor good for the vast majority of Americans
