Under the table the competition and players don’t know what true market value is. The big teams will have to pay market rate and smaller schools may have a better chance at targeting their investment. Alabama can’t pay market rate to the top quarterback every year on signing day if true value is allowed. The ncaa really benefits the top teams if they put limits on earnings. Limits on earnings also favors the cheaters because rule followers will have a limit they can spend while the cheaters will still go under the table.
