in my 51 years say it was a US invention. I'm not saying some nutjob hasn't said it. There are nutjobs that say all sorts of things. At most, I have heard them say that slavery was part of our history from the dawn of our country up until the Civil War.

Of course slavery has been around for eons and just about all races, at some point, have been enslaved. Hell, that was the nature of war forever. Doesn't make what happened in our country suddenly become acceptable.
