1) the Lebanon attack lasted seconds, the Benghazi attack lasted hours
2) the Marine Commanders in Lebanon were not refused anything they requested to defend the barracks. The US ambassador to Libya asked for additional resources in the months leading up to the consulate attack and was refused that help.
