There have been 2.32 million confirmed cases of CV19 in the US. There have been 122,000 deaths. Since you are talking about a diagnosis, I suspect you are referring to confirmed cases. The mortality rate is over 5% for confirmed cases. We can speculate all we want about the undetected and asymptomatic cases in the US bringing the mortality rate down but confirmed cases show a death rate that would bring your chances of simply surviving the disease down slightly below 95% and the chance of having a significant illness much higher.
New infections to a younger crowd in the US (while those at risk remain more cautious) may change these stats but that change is not confirmed or manifested in the available data at this point.
