because there was a major difference between the two posts.
HS did not like what someone else was saying and he was asking that their post be removed to protect him and others from ideas that HE found to be unacceptable.
Cosmo simply pointed out the absurdity of HS's statement.
One post was about censoring an idea he did not like and the other was an open discussion. Shielding ourselves from competing ideas means that we also shield ourselves from any meaningful conversation. That is where we are today because we have raised a generation that believes unpleasant thoughts must be avoided.
The fact that you equated the two threads is every bit as concerning as HS's original post.
