Facts are facts, whatever they are, they are. They don't change. I.e. it takes about 365 1/4 days for the earth to complete one revolution around the sun. Water boils at 212 degrees at sea level (think that's correct).
Common senses refers to the reasoning process, it pertains the analysis of a given set of facts. And it strikes me that it is the "rationale" given when the speaker is presenting a conclusion not necessarily logically drawn from the particular facts or contrary to what the facts dictate. I.e. they facts are X and "common sense" dictates that . . .".
