It is remarkable how much grief people could avoid in this life if they simply had the self confidence to say "my bad - sorry about that" rather than doubling and tripling down on ridiculousness.

Of course, nothing speaks to lack of self-confidence more than having to declare ass-kickings on a messageboard.
