He did go into the his personal story of what the flag means to him when he looks at the flag during the national anthem.

I'll never understand the National Anthem and Flag worship of our country. It's really strange to me. And I know that opinion is not a popular one. I also think Kaepernick is a douche, but not because he chose to take a knee.
