chosen to remain ignorant on issues of the day, and therefore he eschews media that might give him a perspective, aka the truth, that makes him uncomfortable.
He believes passionately things he does not know. He said there were one or two churches damaged in riots, he said that does not indicate an attack on churches.
He had no idea. The same person who consciously refuses to absorb media claimed that there were a very limited number of attacks on churches and since he didn't know of many, there must not have been many.
When confronted with his ignorance and is shown that his passionately held beliefs are just ignorant and without basis in fact, he gets defensive and calls names and doubles down on what he believes but doesn't know.
He is easily led. He thinks what he is told to think and believes what he is supposed to believe.
Challenges to his beliefs are met with resistance and hostility.
And more ignorance.
