There has been targeted looting - but no riots

The other day poster asked me to define riot and beyond Websters I did not do well with that task.
But having thought on it - WATTS was a riot, people running madly destroying everything in sight. South LA after the King verdict, those riots showed outraged populace attacking everything in sight to destroy and burn.
THOSE WERE RIOTS. These were not. Words have meaning.
These have been OVERWHELMINGLY peaceful demonstrations with flurries of very unfortunate and indeed criminal instances of looting. BUT if you examine that looting - it is almost surgical execution in most instances. People taking one of two items - IMPACT OF THE LOOTING was the key more than the loot. Think of New Orleans after Katrina the folks who looted took everything they could carry. That has not been the case here.
