I posed a reasonable scenario. The question was distinguishing a DEMONSTRATION, an American right and a "riot".

I have the right to one. I do not have the right to destroy property or assault others as to do so is a crime. But if I am in the middle of a demonstration that turns violent, am I guilty of a crime or within my rights. I get the feeling this might be over your head. Again - nothing to do with shooting.
