He is not blameless here.
He downplayed it for a long time. He stated for petesake as the president of the United States that he "takes no responsibility". When asked about the rising threat of the pandemic - he said "the Market's OK".
He is not blameless as his failure is epic. He and Kushner like to promote this myth that his banning the Chinese from flying here is ludicrous. He did not ban Americans from coming in. And it turns out the virus likely came to NYC from Europe.
Again, 35,000-50,000 dead on him. His focus concern the market cost tens of thousands of lives.
