Or, if you’re completely against leasing, you buy as cheap a used car as you’re willing to buy and drive it into the ground.
Cars are an expense, not an investment. With very few exceptions, every car you buy will be worth nearly nothing when it’s done with its useful life. I wouldn’t pay cash for anything like that unless it was just transportation.
