RE:not treason: The treason charge gets thrown around a lot

Sometimes even a Federal Judge gets it wrong. Take Judge Sullivan for example. When the Mueller SC investigation pressured Gen. Flynn to take a guilty plea on a false statement charge over a lawful conversation he had with Abr. Kislyak, Sullivan falsely conflated the call with spying and selling out U.S. interests. Nothing of the sort had been alleged by Mueller and the charge included no such elements. However, this didn't stop Judge Sullivan from engaging in a lengthy rant on the bench accusing Flynn of sharing national security secrets with the 'Russians'! Sullivan accused Gen. Flynn of treason, even though Russia is not an enemy combatant and the U.S. is not at war.
