Not sure why they would do this. I hate it when they add stuff that is very contrary to the flow of the game. There's already a way to get the ball back if you need to score, it's called an onside kick. It's pretty much within the present and natural flow of the game. Why go outside of that?
This just smacks of trying to add ways to make games closer so they can subject TV audiences to more commercials.
