As a Missourian, I detest Lincoln. Before the war even started he targeted Missouri for destruction and carried out his plans using a privately organized foreign born illegal militia and a renegade U.S. Army Captain. When they had successfully defeated the State militia trainees at Boonville, Lincoln replaced duly elected State officials with his own hand picked cronies. From that point the State was occupied by militia troops from Germany, Iowa, Illinois and Kansas and over one third of the population was driven out of the State.
