as Big Eight freshman of the year in '87 and starting lots of games in '88. As you mention his fall in the '89 rotation was due in large part to an absurdly deep frontcourt, probably deepest we've had - and also a penchant for using a Coward/Irvin/Peeler monster three guard lineup at times as well. Buntin didn't have issues with foul trouble or overall development like Tilmon has.
Don't get me wrong Tilmon has the talent for a bust out senior year and there have been plenty of scenarios like that. I would expect him to have a much better season because he should. But you know better than most where I'm going with the above when I suggest that '89 Buntin probably would have been a 20 and 10 starter for this last year's Mizzou team...still would not have been a good team but he'd have been the go to guy
