schools like Alabama, Michigan, and Auburn. That’s really impressive. There looks to be a lot of quality in the newly expanded freshman class, with the 2020 and 2021 classes now combined in terms of eligibility. Will be interesting to see which girls in this group step up and challenge for starting positions in the 2021 season. I’d like to think that the absolute locks to start are Kessinger, Wilmes, Rollin, Wert, and Moore. Going to be a lot of competition for those other 4 starting spots and the next 3-4 off the bench.
The upperclassmen group of Decker, Raabe, George, Chaumont, Bailey and Myint are really going to be pressed by the huge new freshman class which by my count now throws another 12 players into the mix. That’s 18 players fighting for 4 starting positions and maybe 3-4 more slots that get significant playing time and at bats.
Which players in this huge freshman class will rise to the top and push aside the remaining upperclassmen for playing time.
