It was the wrong decision to grant every spring athlete an extra year of eligibility. You are right when you say some players aren’t going to take advantage of it. Kids are going to get on with their lives, and not stick around after they get their college degrees. I don’t think there is any certainty that we get 2 more years from Moore, Wert, Kessinger, Wilmes, etc. In fact I’d be shocked if every one of them played an extra season at Mizzou after they graduate. Every one of them has a different life story, different aspirations.

What we may see an increase in is softball players who come back home to their families and friends, and spend their last year of eligibility at a home state school. And we will be hurt, and benefit from, that.
