I know most of you have been waiting for my thoughts
(given that half of you of incapable of your own).
The Federal government does not did not will not have any business or authority to tell the public or businesses
what businesses can be open or that people can go to. With the exception of businesses transferring people or goods across our borders.
It was always a local (or under extreme circumstances)
a State issue. Social distancing should have been an extreme advisement not an order.
By the time Trump was done singing and dancing about the hoax that is going to lose him his Presidency, the corona was already out of the bag.
Sure lockdowns and closures have and will save lives but
that in this case is clearly government overreach.
People are entitled to be stupid and risk their lives
and they do all the time- tobacco, alcohol, drugs,
extreme sports ...etc etc etc etc.
The government should advise you to seek shelter during a tornado, not arrest you if you don't.
Even if the economy is completely reopened NOW, its too late for Trump anyway, so all businesses should be free to reopen.
With the caveat that those who do not wish to roll the dice should be able to keep their job to some extent.
The thing is republicans don't believe in science nor facts so what the Hell. Hell I would guess that not a small percentage of Trumpers don't even believe there are such things as viruses.
