I've heard talk of moving the football season to the spring, but how on earth would that work. They would either have to shorten the season considerably (by at least four games), start in the winter (and boy, would the other SEC teams love coming to Columbia in Feb. and early March), or have the season run past the end of the spring semester. Even if you can figure out how to do that, that would put northern teams at a distinct disadvantage compared to teams in the Deep South. Plus, it would give injured players even less time to heal before the start of the next fall football season.
