The reality is outside of portions of the Quin Snyder years (who was capable of elite national recruiting) MU has ALWAYS been largely dependent on incoming transfer talent.

Here is a year by year summary of the last 45 yrs, although I didn't include all transfers or even transfers that started for those teams.
