urban areas. I grew up in the same time frame. Followed Mizzou basketball (but was probably more of a UCLA fan as a kid) but really didn't give much thought to Mizzou football. That was pretty much the case in my sports crazed neighborhood and my high school. Chiefs were everything in football. Basketball was not very popular at the time but I was more interested in college basketball than most because I played and particularly since KC had only a short history in the NBA.
