I'm not saying Americans need to "Buy American" all the time, especially when there are better alternatives out there (based on price, value, etc.), but we don't have to buy Chinese products. There are plenty of good alternatives from friendlier countries (such as South Korea, Mexico, India, etc.), so why buy Chinese? Maybe if every American was to eliminate or reduce the number of Chinese products they purchase, companies would move their manufacturing facilities to other countries and/or back to the U.S. And, with the increased use of robotics and other forms of automation, cheap Chinese labor won't be as valued as in years past.
