Where Floyd failed. When Floyd tried at least one, if not two, of the other Chancellors were not his picks. They complained to the BOC that consolidation would hurt Rolla, UMSL, & UMKC and the BOC listened. That led to EF's attempt going down in failure.
The other Chancellors are Choi appointees, they're loyal to him and the BOC really likes Choi. Plus, I think everyone is aware that Choi is very hands on when it comes to the Columbia campus. That's going to lessen the quality of candidate this position will attract.
