1) you know the question was disingenuous. There is no way the media asks Trump a softball question. It was made to make him look bad. If trump had given a legit answer in the eyes of most it would be twisted in order to once again, make Trump look bad. They look for ways to do it.
2) who's afraid and why
3) It's not a legitimate question - see #1
4) Trump and the media hate each other and both are to blame. You reap what you sow. That goes for both sides.
5) even if Trump had said something like " we are doing everything we can at this point..." then the follow ups would have been something like "why wasn't that done sooner...."
