so being floated out there, people are demanding government suspend mortgages, car payments, utilities, credit card bills, etc.

Outside of taxes, the government has no right to do this. How do they know the collector of that money does not need it to pay their own bills.

I could see the Fed intervening with banks on this issue, but cannot see how it goes further than that. I think good businesses will do that as well on a voluntary basis (many already have).
