Are you asking which softball seniors will stay for the extra year of eligibility they now have?

Or are you asking which players on the team, in any class, might leave due to the significant problems with rosters caused by allowing all players an additional year of eligibility?

Mizzou will be affected very little by the first question, because we have just one senior on the roster, Eli Daniel. Due to the craziness that happened here over the last few years. As a fan I’d be pleased as punch to see Eli return next year. But not every senior is going to take advantage of the extra year of eligibility. Most (hopefully) are graduating in a few months with their degree, and are going to move on with their lives. If a graduating senior wants to play next year, they have to continue in grad school, which may or may not be part of their life plan. And going to grad school adds expenses for school, housing, etc. And a graduating senior who is not a starter or doesn’t see much playing time and knows they will see even less when the freshmen come in this fall may not be inclined to stay another year.

It will be very interesting to see how many seniors across the nation actually take advantage of the extra year.

The significant roster disruptions caused by the NCAAs hasty, not well thought out decision on eligibility is another issue, and why I don’t agree with the decision. That’s a whole other post.
