As promising as the freshman pitchers are , they don’t appear to currently have strikeout stuff. So in low scoring games we will be often be at the mercy of ball in play luck.
Wert not the same hitter this year, bring back the old Wert.
Moll has the look of a solid four year player.
This team is competitive , with solid young pitching , but the lack of any depth at the plate ...well there is no answer for that . Is there any real help on the way.
The Illinois pitcher today was very good . It was obvious from the outset this was a toss up game at best .
