One of the key things is to slow the spread of the virus so hospitals, clinics, and doctors offices aren't totally overwhelmed by an influx of sick patients.

But here you have a dad and his daughter who are supposed to be self-quarantined out in a large crowd playing typhoid Mary.

Look at the difference between Philadelphia and STL in the 1918 flu pandemic and maybe you will understand the importance of slowing the transmission of highly communicable disease.
