which identifies age. TEEN does not address any specific teenager's emotional maturity, though it can give insight with a number attached. Some teens are adults, and those teens are presumed, under the law, to have the ability to think and act as an adult, and barring a finding that they are not able to function as an adult, they are held to adult standards.
To assume that no teenager is able to handle adult responsibilities is asinine, as is assuming all teenagers are able to handle adult responsibilities.
