The problem in these cases is that the Superior courts are schizophrenic in how they deal with abused children.... at times they over-reach and remove kids that shouldn't be removed ...... and then the media highlights an unjust removal case and the courts swing the totally opposite direction and leave kids in homes where they should have been removed.
My wife and I are foster parents, and we have taken care of kids that were returned to their abusive parents and were abused yet again... We have also fostered kids where the parents were being 'punished' for making a dumb mistake.. they weren't abusive, they just messed up. The kid never should have been taken from them.
If cases could be as black and white as this one and looked at in a vacuum, everyone's job would be easier at Social Services. Unfortunately, prior cases color how a judge or case worker looks at their current case.
