In 2017, this was the daily death toll from various causes:
Homicide: 53 deaths per day
Alcohol-related: 98 per day
Falls: 100 per day
Motor vehicle accidents: 110 per day
Drugs: 202 per day
We should take the coronovirus situation very seriously. It could possibly turn out to be a disaster on the order of the 1918 flu pandemic. However, might it be just a tad early to panic and/or stoke public fears?
