material as he was merely bragging rather than covering up a crime or conspiracy to commit a crime. Also, i'm unaware of him forging documents and NONE of the 7 counts in his indictment mention anything about forging documents. And Randy Credico, the witness he allegedly threatened, said he wasn't threatened.
take into account his age and his record and it's a ludicrous sentence. I"m not saying he should receive NO sentence, b/c he did lie. I have no idea why he lied. Maybe he just likes playing with fire. Who knows. But there is no doubt he did it. I just think 9 years is too much in this instance.
And that's before you even begin to look at the fact that Mueller knew the whole Russia Collusion narrative was false by the time he indicted Stone.
in the most recent analogous case (also with Flynn's case) W. Samuel Patton lied to the Senate Intel Committee during its "Russia" probe and then destroyed evidence.
He pled to failing to register as a foreign agent and received 3 years probation, 500 hours of community service and a $5,000 fine.
