Not so fast junior. Obama came into office at a time when the economy had already or would soon shed 3.5 million jobs from the effects of the 2008 recession. The economy slowly recovered, incrementally adding jobs during his eight years on office. Many went back to work in jobs paying lower salaries than before 2009. Much of the jobs recovery was cyclical, including make work jobs created by government. By the time Trump took over in January, 2017 the economy was at what economists generally consider full employment. It was Trump's tax and regulatory reforms that kicked the economy into high gear, adding about 25K more jobs per month that the Obama average. To understand the strength of the Trump economy look at how wage growth continues to outpace the inflation rate.
